Designed by London-based artist Rose de Borman, North Sea draws inspiration from 19th-century engravings of the sea near Hastings and the beautiful sepia drawings of the sea by Vincent van Gogh that Virginia encountered at the Royal Academy. With Rose’s characteristically loose, painterly style, the design captures the movement and atmosphere of the water. Its name comes from the North Sea on the north-east coast of Scotland, where Virginia has spent much time, while the colourways reflect the changing light across the sea throughout the day.
